An Andalusian political party has unveiled a set of fiscal proposals aimed at the province of Jaén, seeking to reverse the trend of depopulation and encourage investment and job creation in the region.
The initiative comes in response to the significant population loss experienced by the province of Jaén, with a decrease of 53,000 people since 2010. The primary goal is to transform the territory into a more attractive place to live, start businesses, and generate employment opportunities.
“
"Jaén cannot continue to compete with one hand tied behind its back while other provinces advance, attract population, draw companies, and receive investments. If Jaén faces an exceptional situation, it needs exceptional measures."
Among the specific fiscal measures to be advocated before the Andalusian Parliament are tax reductions for new companies establishing themselves in Jaén, incentives for entrepreneurs choosing the province to develop their innovative projects, and benefits for businesses already settled in the region. Additionally, direct aid for residents in municipalities affected by depopulation is contemplated.
Other advantages demanded by the provincialist party include subsidies linked to the Property Tax (IBI), bonuses or aid in the autonomous sections of the Personal Income Tax (IRPF), fiscal support for families and residents in demographically declining towns, and subsidies on Social Security contributions for self-employed individuals operating in the province.
“
"We want living in Jaén not to be an act of heroism. We want starting a business in Jaén not to be more difficult than doing so in other territories. We want those who stay, those who return, and those who commit to this land to have real advantages, not empty speeches."
The political party has emphasized that depopulation in Jaén is not a casual phenomenon but the result of years of neglect by governments. Therefore, a call is made to the people of Jaén to support these initiatives and ensure that young people can remain in their homeland, towns maintain their vitality, and the province receives fair treatment.
