The incident occurred around 4:07 AM, when an alert was received about a fire on the fifth floor of a building. Upon arrival, personnel from the Fire Prevention, Extinction, and Rescue Service (SPEIS) confirmed that the dwelling was severely affected by both flames and thick smoke.
Due to the difficulty of accessing the apartment from inside the building, the firefighters chose an alternative entry method. They used two ladders and cut through the balcony railing to reach the occupant.
The woman was rescued and brought to safety without any serious injuries reported. Eight SPEIS personnel participated in the operation, deploying a heavy urban pump, a rescue van, and a command vehicle for both extinguishing the fire and subsequently ventilating the building.
