The Jaén temple has prepared a series of workshops, scavenger hunts, and storytelling sessions aimed at children, primarily aged 6 to 11 years old, to learn about one of the city's most important monuments. The activities, which combine games, art, history, and narration, will take place throughout August and can be done individually or as a family. All events will start at 10:30 AM.
The program kicks off on Friday, August 7th, with 'Veo Veo' (I Spy), an activity to explore the exterior and interior of the Cathedral and discover its architectural and artistic details, fostering observation through play. On August 14th, 'Tenemos una misión' (We Have a Mission) will offer a guided scavenger hunt through the temple to find historical characters and elements, sparking curiosity about heritage.
On August 21st, 'Colorín Colorado' will feature a canvas painting workshop where participants can represent characteristic elements of the Cathedral, developing their imagination. The program concludes on August 28th with 'Érase una vez' (Once Upon a Time), a storytelling session recommended for younger children (4 to 7 years old), who will discover the temple's history in an engaging and entertaining way.
Tickets for the workshops have different pricing options: participation for one child costs 7 euros, two visitors (adults and/or children) will pay 10 euros, and three visitors will be charged 12 euros.
In addition to this special program, the Cathedral of Jaén offers free access to children under 13 years old for the general visit. The guided tour for children aged 0 to 12 years old is also free, providing an alternative to explore the temple outside of the summer activities.
Through these initiatives, the Cathedral of Jaén aims to bring its historical, artistic, and religious heritage closer to new generations through age-appropriate experiences, promoting enjoyment and family learning.
