The public company Resurja is responsible for carrying out the maintenance and conservation work for these facilities, a service that has been renewed and began in the previous term. This agreement addresses the need for a certified service that complies with legal requirements for playground maintenance, including specific elements and spare parts.
The Councilor for Urban Maintenance, Javier Padorno, has reported that the objective is to maintain a steady pace of interventions, both to improve existing parks and to create new play areas. Recently, comprehensive work has been carried out at the Marcelino Champagnat Park, as well as expansions and improvements at the playgrounds in Plaza de los Maestros y las Maestras and Plaza de San Agustín.
Padorno emphasized the importance of this exclusive maintenance, which originated after a period of neglect of these facilities. He stressed that repairs must be carried out by accredited companies, using tools and spare parts appropriate to current regulations. The service includes a specific phone number to handle incidents arising from use or incivility.
In addition to improvement efforts, work is underway to create new recreational areas. Soon, work will begin on constructing a large new children's play zone in Parque del Bulevar, which will be one of the largest and most modern in the city, combining traditional games with large structures and accessible paths. These works are expected to commence within a maximum of one month.
Furthermore, the City Council plans to install new playground equipment in Plaza Deán Mazas and Plaza de San Francisco. In Plaza Deán Mazas, the intervention will include a unique play feature referencing the city's history. These actions are part of the maintenance contract awarded to Resurja.
