During the ordinary plenary session held on April 30, the results of the economic management were detailed, highlighting that 79.6 million euros were allocated to public works investment, an increase of 30 million compared to 2024. The average payment period was 13.5 days, and revenues adjusted 100% to what was foreseen.
“"The 2025 budget settlement reflects a strong commitment to the province's development, exceeding initial forecasts and allocating a significant portion to public works."
Additionally, new allocations totaling 7 million euros were approved, framed within the Temporary Shock Plan. Of this amount, 4 million will be assigned to a revitalization plan for 29 municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants in the regions of Sierra de Segura, El Condado, and Sierra Mágina Oeste, which have not accessed EDIL funds. These aids, ranging from 50,000 to 200,000 euros, will be granted under a competitive bidding regime.
The remaining 3 million euros will be allocated to an employment plan to generate daily wages in municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants, with aid varying between 27,000 and 42,000 euros, depending on the number of residents.
The plenary session also approved the delegation of powers to execute projects financed with European EDIL funds, benefiting 52 town councils in six areas of the province. These actions, focused on heritage, tourism, and the environment, represent an investment close to 46 million euros, with 85% funding from the European Union and 15% from the town councils, which will be advanced by the Provincial Council.
Finally, aid of 17,000 euros was approved for the Quesada Town Council, intended to create a literary route based on the novel La península de las casas vacías. The session concluded with the reading of an institutional declaration for World Day for Safety and Health at Work, supported by all political groups.
