The Jaén City Council has approved the project for the construction of a new study hall in the Las Fuentezuelas neighborhood. This initiative, requiring an investment of 300,000 euros, aims to provide citizens with a modern space for study and academic preparation, utilizing a currently unused municipal plot.
The project tender will be released in the coming weeks. The new hall will offer 70 places, thereby expanding the availability of public study spaces in the city. It is designed for students, exam candidates, and residents needing a suitable environment for their preparation.

The mayor of Jaén, Julio Millán, explained that the building will be constructed on a plot located between Olmo Street and Ronda Juez Juan Ruiz Rico. With the project already drafted, construction is expected to commence in the coming weeks, with the hall becoming operational in approximately six months.
Millán framed this action within the City Council's commitment to improving public services and meeting the needs of young people and others requiring adequate study spaces. He recalled similar initiatives already implemented in Bulevar Park and the Carmen on Elvín Street, where dozens of young people are already benefiting from similar facilities. He emphasized that this investment signifies a commitment to generating new public spaces linked to education, training, and future opportunities for Jaén's residents.
Furthermore, the new facility will feature an innovative remote opening system, funded by European EDIL funds. This system will allow for the remote control of the hall's opening and closing from a central unit located at the Carmen on Elvín Street, optimizing resources. Its implementation is anticipated in the early months of 2027.
