The Provincial Council of Jaén has launched the Virtual Tourism Office, a key initiative to boost the digitalization and modernization of the province's tourism offerings. This tool is part of the PID Jaén Turismo Inteligente project, funded by the European NextGenerationEU funds from the Spanish Government's Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
The deputy for Electronic Government and Internal Regime, Inés Arco, presented the platform to the tourism managers of the municipalities in Jaén. According to Arco, the implementation is progressing well and already has the adhesion of 94 municipalities, demonstrating the towns' commitment to innovation and improving tourism services.
The Virtual Tourism Office will enable municipalities, especially smaller ones, to offer quality digital tourism services, enhancing the visitor experience and facilitating the daily management of local teams. The Provincial Council reaffirms its commitment to making Jaén a more connected, intelligent, and competitive tourist destination.
The PID Jaén Turismo Inteligente project, with a budget of 4.6 million euros and NextGenerationEU funding, aims to integrate technology and data usage into the provincial tourism sector. It also seeks to integrate Jaén into the Network of Intelligent Tourist Destinations, with a focus on oil tourism and natural parks.
This platform will place the territory at the center of decision-making, optimizing planning, the visitor experience, and the economic impact of tourism. Through innovation, intelligent data use, and institutional cooperation, the province of Jaén is moving towards a more efficient and competitive tourism management model.
