This Wednesday, the University Hospital of Jaén joined the celebration of Hospitalized Children's Day, organizing various initiatives aimed at admitted minors and their families. The main objective was to make their hospital stay more welcoming and pleasant, fostering an environment of well-being.
Among the highlighted activities, a special menu was prepared at the Maternity and Children's Hospital for pediatric patients. This menu included pasta with tomato, marinated chicken with roasted potatoes, and a fruit skewer, all presented attractively for the little ones. Additionally, children enjoyed recreational materials, storytelling, games, drawings, and an awards ceremony, in a cheerful and colorful environment.

The healthcare center also participated in an institutional event organized together with the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer of Jaén (ALES), which took place at the entrance of the Maternity and Children's Hospital. During this gathering, a mother read a manifesto about the reality of hospitalized children, using the metaphor of the seed as a symbol of hope. Balloons and a photocall were set up for minors, families, and professionals to take pictures. After the reading, small bags with seeds were distributed to attendees as a symbolic gesture.
Throughout the year, the University Hospital of Jaén carries out various initiatives to promote the emotional well-being of admitted minors and their families. These recreational, educational, and humanization activities aim to make their stay at the healthcare center more comfortable.
