The Municipal Commission of Presidency and Heritage of the Jaén City Council has agreed to demand that the Junta de Andalucía formalize the acceptance of the land. These plots were transferred free of charge for the construction of the City of Justice and the Dance Conservatory, two initiatives that, according to the council, remain stalled without the regional administration completing the initial administrative procedures.

The decision was made with the votes against from the representatives of the Popular Party, a fact that a municipal spokesperson highlighted with surprise, noting that the opposition was expressed against a demand that only requires signing a document.

The situation of the City of Justice is particularly concerning, as five and a half years after the transfer, the Junta de Andalucía has not yet accepted the land, a fundamental step to promote the project. This inaction has been described as a sign of disinterest and abandonment towards the city and its citizens.

Regarding the Dance Conservatory, the situation is equally serious. Although archaeological surveys were carried out in 2024, two years later there has been no progress by the Junta de Andalucía for the execution of the conservatory or the acceptance of the plot. Both plots were transferred free of charge by the City Council in a spirit of collaboration.

The Commission decided to postpone the file related to the Health City to prevent it from serving as an excuse during the election campaign. Although in this case the Junta did accept the transferred land, it has failed to comply with the condition of starting construction within two years, with no earth movement having occurred in six years.
