The City of Jaén presented this Tuesday the new route for its Half Marathon, which in its thirtieth edition on November 15 will feature a single-lap circuit for the first time.

The new course, designed to be faster and with less elevation gain, will include the University Campus of Las Lagunillas and the Andrés de Vandelvira Park for the first time. The official presentation took place at the Arco de San Lorenzo and was attended by the mayor, Julio Millán, the Councilor for Sports, Beatriz López, representatives from the Local Police, sponsors, and collaborators.
Mayor Julio Millán highlighted the effort made to ensure the event, considered a significant sporting and tourist attraction, guarantees high participation. 3,500 bibs are expected, a significant increase from the 2,000 of the previous edition, divided between the half marathon (2,500) and the 10K race in memory of Paco Manzaneda.
Councilor Beatriz López described the new edition as "the best Half Marathon in Jaén's history," emphasizing the leap in quality taken last year and the ambitious challenge it posed for this 30th anniversary. She attributed the success to "organized, planned, and constant work, listening to runners and clubs."
The half marathon route will start from Virgen de la Cabeza street and pass through emblematic points such as the Paseo de la Estación, Plaza de las Batallas, Plaza de Santa María, Arco de San Lorenzo, Plaza de la Magdalena, Avenida de Andalucía, and Glorieta Blas Infante. It will then enter the neighborhoods of Fuentezuelas, Marroquíes, and the University Campus, finishing on Avenida de Madrid.
The 10K race will share the initial kilometers with the half marathon through the historic center before returning to the finish line via Avenida Ruiz Jiménez and Avenida de Madrid. The Municipal Sports Board announced that the course will be officially homologated soon and that registrations will open shortly with unprecedented advance notice.
