The Jaén City Council has received a formal proposal for the creation of a golf complex on a municipal plot spanning over 28,000 square meters, located in the La Imora area. The initiative, presented by the Olivares de Jaén Golf Club, aims to provide the capital with a sports infrastructure it currently lacks.
The project includes a driving range over 200 meters long and 60 meters wide, capable of accommodating between 25 and 30 simultaneous tee-boxes. Additionally, it will feature a putting green area, a par-three practice hole, storage facilities, a parking lot with approximately 50 spaces, and a pavilion to serve as a Clubhouse and the entity's social headquarters.

According to the promoters, once the necessary permits are obtained and the municipal land transfer is formalized, the construction of the complex could be completed within an estimated six months. The club, which has about 140 members, aspires to be the driving force for golf in the Jaén capital, a sport with unmet demand in the region.
The City Council will process the proposal through a concessionary agreement, a legal instrument that allows municipal land to be transferred to private entities for the provision of public interest services. This same formula has been used in the past for the construction of facilities such as the La Alameda health center and the transfer of spaces to the University of Jaén.
The La Imora area is experiencing significant urban dynamism, with projects such as a glamping zone on the former site of the Valdeastillas water park. This golf initiative adds to the transformation of this space into an area for leisure, sports, and active tourism for the city.
