The companies Aires de Jaén, MAM Córdoba, Ingho Facility Management, and Coanda were the recipients of awards at the 17th Andalusian SME Excellence Awards, organized by Grupo Joly and CaixaBank. The ceremony was held at the Consulate of Portugal in Seville. These businesses are distinguished by their high degree of specialization and their significant capacity to adapt to market demands. The SME tourism category remained vacant this year.
Aires de Jaén, based in Jabalquinto (Jaén), received an award in the agri-food SME category. The company, which began packaging premium virgin olive oils in 2015 and established its own oil mill in 2019, markets its Finca Badenes brand in 50 countries. Led by the fourth generation of the López-Polaina family, the company focuses on value creation through high-end oils, sustainability, and internationalization. It also promotes an olive tourism initiative attracting 5,000 annual visitors, with plans to incorporate immersive technology.
MAM Córdoba, founded in 2019, secured the award in the industrial category. The company specializes in the installation and maintenance of solar plants, cement factories, agri-food facilities, and biofuel plants, as well as manufacturing filtration equipment. The bag filter systems, which clean air before atmospheric release, have been instrumental in its growth. The company has expanded its facilities to 4,000 square meters and projects annual revenues of 50 million euros for its business group, with an international presence in France and Morocco.
In the health and biotechnology category, Ingho Facility Management, located in Málaga TechPark, was recognized for its specialization in hospital engineering. Established in 2004, it has participated in over a thousand projects, including the design of complex buildings and laboratories, adopting advanced methodologies like 3D modeling (BIM). The company, with an international presence in about twenty countries, highlights projects such as Al Salam Hospital in Saudi Arabia and the Cardiff Oncology Hospital in the United Kingdom. It has also developed a patent for generating water from atmospheric humidity.
Coanda, a Seville-based company founded in 1990, received the award in the business services category. Initially focused on the printing sector as an official distributor for Kyocera, it has diversified its activities to offer comprehensive digitalization, document management, and digital transformation services. Under the leadership of the second generation, the company advises businesses and institutions on process optimization and technology implementation, while continuing its commitment to high-production equipment.
