The operation, named Plan Romero, was activated in early March with a series of preventive actions. The company's technicians have carried out exhaustive reviews of the Encinarejo substation, which is the main energy supply point for the pilgrimage site.
In addition to the substation, the Santuario medium-voltage line, which runs for 57 kilometers from the Encinarejo dam to Valdelagrana, has been supervised. A thermographic inspection of the five transformation centers that supply the Santuario and the village of Virgen de la Cabeza has also been conducted.
“"This special device, called Plan Romero, was activated at the beginning of March with the implementation of various preventive actions."
The electricity company actively participates in the Cerro Operational Plan, coordinated by the Jaén 112 Emergency Service. This operation, in collaboration with the Andújar City Council, will commence on Friday, April 24, and conclude on Monday, April 27.
To ensure a rapid and effective response to any incident, Endesa will have two on-call technical brigades within the pilgrimage grounds. Furthermore, material resources will be strategically located to address any issues that may arise in both medium and low voltage, ensuring the continuity of service.
