The initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Education, primarily aims to highlight the benefits of practicing and teaching chess in schools. Last academic year, a total of 81 educational centers in the province participated in this project.
The Minister of Education, María del Carmen Castillo, has encouraged center management teams to join 'aulaDjaque', describing it as a "pedagogical ally" that transforms the classroom into a space for discovering chess's potential through a transversal, playful, and creative approach.
Centers interested in participating in the program for the upcoming academic year can submit their application through the Séneca Information System, between September 1st and 30th.
'aulaDjaque' offers an innovative teaching methodology that uses chess to "teach thinking." The objective is not victory, but learning, transferring ethical-civic values and developing cognitive and socio-affective skills in students.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the celebration of an 'aulaDjaque Congress', the 'Corto y Jaque' video-experience contest, the IV edition of the 'Lichess aulaDjaque Tournament', and the creation of a global action map have been announced. 'Virtual conversations' for teacher training will also continue.
