The Castillo de Santa Catalina in Jaén has been the setting for a night of mystery and intrigue with an unsolved murder and numerous suspects locked within its walls. The production 'Sombras de Traición' (Shadows of Betrayal), a cluedo set in the fortress, was a resounding success by the Municipal Culture Board, as part of the «Jaén no duerme en verano» (Jaén Sleeps Not in Summer) program, selling out all tickets.
Upon arriving at the Castle's reception, participants were met with the news of the mysterious murder of Constable Iranzo. Detained in the completely sealed palace, everyone was considered guilty until proven otherwise. Inspired by the famous board game Cluedo, the immersive experience allowed attendees to delve into different characters, gather clues, solve enigmas and puzzles, and unravel the hidden truth alongside other players.
Meanwhile, Puente Nuevo enjoyed a night of energy and flamenco rumba with a live performance by the Jaén-based group Finito, as part of the «Música en el Extrarradio» (Music on the Outskirts) series. The performance before an engaged audience in Puente Tablas was met with absolute success.
This was the second event in the Municipal Culture Board's «Música en el Extrarradio» program, which aims to bring live music and cultural offerings to the second homes of the capital's residents, while also supporting local talent.
The third performance will take place in Puente Jontoya on August 29, featuring the Jaén group Reclamados, who will perform covers from the 80s and 90s.
