Agents of the National Police in Jaén have arrested a man and a woman for committing a robbery at a commercial establishment in the Las Fuentezuelas neighborhood. The assailants stole cash from the register, estimated between 400 and 700 euros, in addition to several store products. During the robbery, the woman used a knife against the shop assistant.
Following the victim's call, several units of the National Police were dispatched to the scene. The CIMACC 091, the police coordination center, received calls from witnesses who provided information about the robbers' descriptions and their escape route. Witnesses indicated that the couple attempted to hide in building entrances after the incident.
Officers intercepted the woman near the scene of the robbery, carrying bags with the stolen goods and the knife used. The detainee confessed to her involvement in the robbery with a male companion, who, according to her, had left to buy drugs, as both are addicts.
Subsequently, the man was located at a drug dealing and consumption point. A witness informed another police patrol that a man matching the suspect's description had requested a taxi. Officers went to the taxi stand and, after determining the vehicle's destination, intercepted the man as he was buying drugs. During a security pat-down, money from the commercial robbery was found hidden in his clothing.
Both detainees were taken to police facilities and are awaiting the completion of police proceedings before being handed over to judicial authority.
