The National Police has successfully dismantled a family clan allegedly involved in heroin trafficking across several Andalusian provinces, including Jaén. The operation, named 'Irak II-Gemelos', resulted in the arrest of five individuals and four house searches in the Sevillian town of Dos Hermanas.
The investigation, conducted jointly by officers from the Écija and Linares police stations, began after receiving intelligence about a family group primarily distributing heroin in the provinces of Jaén, Córdoba, and Sevilla. A significant quantity of the substance was intercepted in Jaén during an initial phase, which was crucial for identifying the family core and advancing the operation.
The suspects often used third parties, many with addiction problems, to transport the drugs, aiming to complicate their direct association with the seized substances.
The operation unfolded in three phases. The first phase involved the arrest of a male and the seizure of nearly two kilograms of heroin, along with cutting agents. In the second phase, following further surveillance, another male was arrested in the province of Córdoba, leading to the seizure of more heroin and small quantities of other narcotics.
The final exploitation phase focused on Dos Hermanas, where four house entries and searches were carried out, culminating in the arrest of the main suspect. Overall, the operation led to the seizure of over two kilograms of heroin, 500 marijuana plants, various amounts of MDMA, cutting agents, and a short firearm. One of the detainees has been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities and provisionally imprisoned.
