The event, held since last Friday at Ifeja, gathered over fifty agri-food companies from the provinces of Jaén and Granada. During the final day, the Deputy of Agriculture and Livestock, Javier Perales, actively participated in various proposals, highlighting the presentation of the project Taller LabOleo –Scientific Laboratory of Extra Virgin Olive Oil– and his attendance at the Hosturjaén assembly.
Among the most relevant activities was the presentation of fifteen Degusta Jaén brand plaques to new producers, businesses, and restaurants, as well as jackets to chefs who have recently joined this initiative promoted by the Provincial Council. Additionally, awards were presented for the XII Andalusian Young Chefs Competition and the I Andalusian Young Waiters and Waitresses Competition, organized by the Andalusian Federation of Gastronomic Brotherhoods and Associations (FECOAN).
The closing day also offered tastings of extra virgin olive oils, wines, vermouth, and spirits from the province, with the collaboration of the Jaén Sommeliers Association. Furthermore, a talk was given on the Degusta Jaén gluten-free initiative, and a showcooking was held featuring restaurants affiliated with Degusta Jaén and Sabor Granada, alongside a renowned Michelin-starred chef.
These activities marked the end of three days filled with over 40 free proposals, ranging from tastings and culinary demonstrations to business meetings, professional events, competitions, children's initiatives, and musical, dance, and comedy shows, solidifying the success of this edition.
