The Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) formed by the consulting and engineering firms Actisa, TPF Getinsa Euroestudios, and Estudio 7 will be responsible for the technical assistance and construction management of the Olive Grove Highway expansion. The contract, awarded by the Junta de Andalucía, amounts to nearly one million euros (944,110).
This contract is considered "indispensable" for the development of the work, as it will cover construction control, including site management, quality control, and health and safety coordination. The construction work itself is also currently being tendered.
The acting Minister of Development, Territorial Planning, and Housing, Rocío Díaz, highlighted that this award brings the reactivation of the Olive Grove Highway closer to its "final stretch," with works anticipated in the year 2026. She noted that they had to start "practically from scratch" due to the obsolescence of the initial projects.
The section to be developed is 5.2 kilometers long and will extend the existing highway between Jaén and Martos westward, completing the duplication of the regional road A-316 up to Arroyo Salado. The future highway will feature two carriageways with two lanes in each direction, separated by a six-meter median.
The intervention includes the construction of five structures, one underpass for the road, three underpasses for paths, and one overpass for a greenway. Path and road restitutions will also be ensured, including the Vía Verde del Aceite (Oil Greenway), and environmental impact mitigation measures will be implemented, such as spill collection basins near Arroyo Salado.
