The Andújar City Council, through its Department of Welfare, Family and Social Inclusion, organized the Intergenerational Walk 'In Movement for Health' this Monday, gathering nearly 990 people from various age groups and collectives to commemorate World Health Day.

The activity saw the participation of third and fourth-grade Primary Education students, users of senior workshops from Community Social Services, residential centers for people with special needs, and various social and health associations from the municipality of Andújar.
The event highlighted the values of intergenerational coexistence, citizen participation, and collective health care. A significant novelty this year was the inclusion of residential centers for people with special needs, a step forward that councilor Manuel Mezquita emphasized as a commitment to the inclusive nature of the activity.

"This initiative reinforces the importance of health, prevention, and well-being in our community."

The walk kicks off a month of awareness activities, which will include workshops on healthy lifestyle habits, balanced nutrition, and knowledge of the city's health resources. The next scheduled event will be on April 16 at the Palacio de los Niños de Don Gómez, where Primary Education students will participate in a first aid workshop, designed to equip them with basic skills to respond to emergencies at home or at school.
