Following a meeting with the Huelva Autism Association, Ánsares, the deputy general secretary of the PSOE-A criticized the management of the Junta de Andalucía, noting that current policies affect the care of children with special educational needs and the quality of public services.
A potential reform of Basic Vocational Training has been denounced, which, it is warned, could exclude students with special needs, despite this path being crucial for their academic and professional development.
In the province of Huelva, it is estimated that there are around 700 children with autism, of whom about 360 are linked to Ánsares, where fifty professionals work. This highlights the need to strengthen care resources and institutional support.
“"It is regrettable that attention to these minors is minimized, questioning the Andalusian Executive's commitment to social inclusion."
The PSOE-A recalled that it had already presented an initiative in the Andalusian Parliament to regulate inclusive education, a proposal that remains a priority to guarantee the rights of these minors and their families. The importance of improving the working conditions of professionals such as psychologists and speech therapists was also emphasized, ensuring stable and well-paid staff for quality care.
Finally, the situation of families, who often have to bear additional expenses for therapies and specialized care, was highlighted, a burden considered unjustifiable in a public system that should cover these basic needs. In an electoral context, the visit of the President of the Government to Gibraleón was mentioned, emphasizing the enthusiasm of Huelva socialists for the start of the campaign in Andalusia and valuing the social policies promoted by the central Executive.
