The mobilization, which will start at 11:00 AM from Plaza 12 de Octubre, aims to highlight the precarious labor situation in the province, which records the second lowest average salary in Spain, around 18,000 euros annually.
“"Today you can have a job and still be poor."
According to the unions, this reality affects more than 265,000 salaried individuals in Huelva, where six out of ten workers earn salaries equal to or below the Minimum Interprofessional Wage. The wage gap is particularly pronounced for women, with an average salary of just 13,700 euros, and for young people under 35 years old, whose incomes do not exceed 15,000 euros.
In addition to salary precariousness, the union organizations have warned about the difficulty of accessing decent housing, especially in coastal areas, where holiday rentals are displacing the working population from the residential market. They have demanded urgent measures such as intervention in the rental market and the expansion of public housing stock.
The unions have also advocated for the regularization of migrants as a matter of social justice and have reiterated their rejection of armed conflicts, noting that war is always paid for by the working class. They have emphasized the importance of collective struggle for the achievement of labor rights and the construction of a more just and cohesive society.
