A patrol from the Almonte Local Police responded to a building after receiving a call reporting that two individuals, a couple aged 70 and 66, were trapped in an elevator on the third floor. The incident occurred around 8:45 PM last Thursday.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed the situation and requested the intervention of the Huelva Provincial Fire Consortium. Firefighters proceeded to open the elevator doors, successfully freeing the couple without any injuries.
The incident was resolved without further complications. The elevator has been taken out of service pending a technical inspection to ensure its proper functioning.
Three firefighters and a shift supervisor were dispatched to the scene, utilizing a light urban pumper and a utility van for the rescue operation.
