The preparation for the albiazul team for the 26/27 season will officially begin on July 6 with the first medical examinations, which will last until the following day. The next day, Wednesday the 8th, players will start training on the field.
This pre-season is shaping up to be one of the longest than usual, as the league competition will not start until the weekend of September 5 and 6. This means a preparation period of two months, considerably longer than in previous seasons, where training usually began later and the first friendlies were played at the end of July.
The planning for this pre-season is marked by the celebration of the Trofeo Colombino on July 22, which will pit the team against Real Betis. The presence of a team of Betis's caliber has influenced the preparation roadmap, which will include a more novel training load management, as has been indicated.
The Trofeo Colombino will be the first of three confirmed friendly matches for the Huelva-based team. In August, two more games will be played: one against a lower-category opponent and another against a team from Primera RFEF. Specifically, on August 11, they will face Bollullos CF at the Eloy Ávila Cano, and four days later, on August 15, they will play the Trofeo Mercoguadiana in Almendralejo against CD Extremadura.
Given these timelines, a significant acceleration in squad planning is expected in the coming days. Currently, the team has just over a dozen players. The technical secretariat is working to finalize the first signings before July 6, allowing new additions to start pre-season normally. Although the squad will not be completely finalized for the Trofeo Colombino, it is expected to approach the match with guarantees, supported by the inclusion of four or five youth players who will undertake pre-season with the first team.
