The Andalusian parliamentarian for PSOE in Huelva, Macarena Robles, has positively assessed the Council of Ministers' authorization to allocate 20.42 million euros for the conservation and operation of 146 kilometers of state-owned roads in the province of Huelva.
Robles described this funding as a demonstration of the Spanish Government's "real and responsible commitment" to road safety and the mobility of Huelva's citizens, emphasizing that it translates into concrete actions on strategic infrastructure for the province.
In contrast, the socialist leader criticized the Regional Government of Andalusia's management of infrastructure. According to her statements, while the central executive invests in improving communications and safety, the regional administration maintains pending projects unexecuted and limits itself to making announcements that do not materialize.
The parliamentarian reminded the President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, that the regional administration also has responsibilities for roads and infrastructure in Huelva and urged him to promote pending actions in the province.
The investment approved by the Council of Ministers is part of the State Road Network maintenance program and will cover key routes over the next five years, including the A-49 (between kilometers 31 and 84), the N-435, and the N-435A. The contracts include conservation, winter maintenance, incident and accident response, as well as improvements to drainage structures and measures for energy efficiency and emission reduction.
Therefore, Robles has called on the Regional Government of Andalusia to follow the central government's example and increase investments in the infrastructure under its purview to enhance connectivity and road safety in the province of Huelva.
