The leading candidate for the province of Huelva in the upcoming Andalusian elections hosted the event, which took place last Sunday, May 17, at the Gibraleón Fair Pavilion. Before a stage adorned with green and white flags and with the explicit support of national figures, the socialist representative underscored the identity of a province that, in her words, "some don't even know where to place on the map."
“"Some place us in the Mediterranean or say we don't know how to count; we are going to tell them what Huelva is: a mining, agricultural, industrial, seafaring land, of hardworking, welcoming, and deeply progressive people."
During her speech, the candidate contrasted the management model of the Junta de Andalucía with the needs of the province. She criticized the regional president, whom she described as "delighted to continue being an 'influencer,'" while the reality of Huelva suffers a "collapse." She emphasized that, unlike the current administration, the PSOE has "many reasons to vote."
Among the reasons mentioned, the health crisis in Huelva was highlighted, referring to long waits at health centers and the situation at Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital, with "lack of beds and endless waits." Reference was also made to patients affected by delays in breast cancer screenings, to whom a message of commitment and support was conveyed.
The event also featured the participation of the mayor of Gibraleón, who opened the meeting and expressed gratitude for her municipality being the "kilometer zero" of the PSOE-A's Andalusian pre-campaign. The mayor highlighted the state management in the locality, mentioning the investment of 5.2 million euros allocated to the works of roundabout 431.
