Representatives of the Andalusian PSOE, accompanied by candidates, socialist leaders, mayors, and spokespersons, stated that these "serious failures" are a result of the "abandonment and disregard" towards the province of Huelva.
According to the socialists, the list of deficiencies covers a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, dependency care, housing, mobility, education, and justice. They assert that the Socialist Party "gives voice to what residents are saying," as they have conveyed their "indignation and helplessness" regarding the situation.
“"During the presidency of the current leader of the Junta de Andalucía, we have seen no progress. We are absolutely clear that we are going to turn the polls around; we are convinced that change is possible."
At the local level, the mayor of Aracena and president of the PSOE Huelva Mayors' Council, Manuel Guerra, highlighted that the Sierra region has experienced "two blank legislatures," with no progress on projects such as the Hydraulic Ring, educational initiatives, housing, roads, and infrastructure. He particularly emphasized the Chare de la Sierra, whose resumption and completion, he claims, has not advanced despite there being no impediments since 2021.
Other socialist representatives also expressed their concern. The mayor of San Juan, Rocío Cárdenas, described the "deterioration of the Andalusian healthcare system as appalling," mentioning the collapse in health centers. The spokesperson for the socialist group in the Huelva Provincial Council, Rubén Rodríguez, denounced a "frontal attack" on dependency care and insufficient aid for the wine sector in the Condado. He also lamented that the Chare del Condado project, which would serve over 80,000 citizens, remains stalled.
The mayor of Riotinto, Rocío Díaz, stated that the Riotinto Regional Hospital is "dismantled, empty of staff, and increasingly cut back on services," with closed wards and no ENT service. The mayor of San Silvestre de Guzmán, José Alberto Macarro, called for the opening of the Chare de Lepe, which is already completed. The spokesperson for the PSOE of Huelva, Enrique Gaviño, remarked that the Maternity and Children's Hospital "should have been a reality years ago".
