The town of Matalascañas, in the province of Huelva, is gearing up to host a new edition of the Desalia festival, an event set to mark the beginning of summer in Spain with five days of music and activities.

Between May 26 and 30, this Huelva enclave will transform into a hub for youth entertainment, bringing together over a thousand participants, alongside public figures and content creators. The experience, sponsored by a renowned rum brand, will unfold in the heart of the Costa de la Luz, leveraging the natural setting of dunes and its proximity to the Doñana National Park.
This year, the festival adopts a video game-inspired theme under the slogan “Let the game begin.” The proposal aims for each attendee to become the protagonist of their own “game,” translating video game narratives into reality. The ON City Resort in Matalascañas will serve as the main “interactive map,” hosting everything from pool parties and DJ sessions to surprise dynamics and seaside activities, all with an aesthetic reminiscent of classic video games.

"The organization has designed a system inspired by arcade games, where users must overcome challenges to increase their chances of obtaining one of the coveted passes."

One of the most anticipated moments will be the “White Night” on May 28, considered the climax of the event and promising some of the program's most significant surprises. To participate in Desalia, access is not purchased directly but obtained through an online challenge system, adding an element of excitement even before arriving in Huelva. In the weeks leading up to the festival, more details about guest artists and new ways to participate will be revealed via social media.
The experience includes five days of accommodation, transportation from various Spanish cities, and access to all organized activities, offering a complete immersion in this event that promises to kick off the summer of 2026 memorably.
