The athletes from Club Bádminton IES La Orden, Alejandro Pérez and Álvaro Morán, reaffirmed their excellent skill by securing the runner-up position in the men's doubles event at the Spanish Absolute, Para-badminton, and Inclusive Championship 2026. The competition took place in Cartagena last weekend, where the Huelva-based duo notably performed.
Starting as the third seeds, Pérez and Morán comfortably defeated their initial opponents, Lukas Bollo and Martín Zuazola, with scores of 21-14 and 21-15. They then overcame Jesús De Burgos and Martín Mosquera by 21-19 and 21-16. In the semi-final, they engaged in an intense match against the favorites, Marcos García and Vicente Miguel Gázquez from Oviedo, whom they defeated in a close 17-21, 23-21, and 21-19.
Despite maintaining a high level of play in the final, the IES La Orden pair could not overcome Alberto Perals and Carlos Piris, players from Alicante Intercity and Granollers respectively, who claimed the title after winning 16-21 and 15-21.
In the men's individual category, Pablo Abián, also from Recreativo IES La Orden, earned a bronze medal. Despite competing with a calf injury that prevented him from performing at his peak, Abián advanced through the early rounds without difficulty, defeating Raúl Gutiérrez (21-15, 21-12), Jofre Comella (21-14, 21-13), and Alejandro Gallego (21-12, 21-8). His path to the final was cut short in the semi-finals by Ernesto Baschwitz from Ciudad de Villalba, in a hard-fought match that ended 7-21, 21-16, and 22-20.
