This program, covering compulsory education in public and state-subsidized private schools, will be implemented in Huelva for the upcoming academic year. The textbooks are owned by the educational administration and are loaned to students, remaining in the schools after the course ends for reuse.
For the 2026/27 academic year, a complete renewal of textbooks for 1st and 2nd grade of Primary Education is planned, along with provisions for students with specific educational support needs. Families of students starting these grades will receive a book voucher exchangeable at chosen bookstores.
The Ministry of Education has introduced improvements to the Séneca system to facilitate the labeling of books using barcodes, streamlining the process for educational centers.
The Junta de Andalucía emphasizes that free textbooks are a right recognized by the Statute of Autonomy and the Andalusian Education Law. The program not only saves families money but also promotes the care and reuse of school materials among students.
