This award seeks original and unpublished works, written in Spanish, that address topics related to history, archaeology, art, urbanism, sociology, anthropology, popular customs, folklore, linguistics, and literature, always referring to the city of Huelva and its area of influence.
Those interested in participating in the Diego Díaz Hierro Award can submit their works individually or collectively. Submissions must be in digital format (DVD or USB drive) and Word format, delivered to the headquarters of the Municipal Archive of Huelva, located in the Levante Pavilion of Casa Colón. The submission deadline is September 18.
Meanwhile, the XXIX Autumn Painting Exhibition will offer a total of 9,000 euros in prizes, divided into a first prize of 6,000 euros and a second prize of 3,000 euros. The awarded works will become property of the Huelva City Council. This competition is open to Spanish or foreign artists over 18 years old residing in Spain.
Participation in the Autumn Exhibition begins with an online phase. Artists must email the registration form, their ID or resident card in PDF format, and a photograph of the artwork in JPG. The deadline for this first phase starts on July 27 and ends on August 20. Works must not exceed 150 x 150 centimeters, cannot be part of a series or created with digital techniques, and must be original and unpublished, not having been previously awarded.
A jury will pre-select works admitted in the online phase. The list of finalists will be published on the Huelva City Council website, and these artists must submit the original artwork by September 21. The selected and awarded works will be exhibited to the public from October 14 to October 24.
