The demonstration, which will start at 7:30 PM from the Plaza del antiguo estadio, seeks to guarantee the fundamental right to quality education for the most vulnerable students. Families report that every school year begins as an "odyssey" to secure the necessary support.
“"We support families and educational communities, who are tired of asking for more resources for our most vulnerable children, those with specific educational support needs."
In the province of Huelva, a total of 9,565 students have specific educational support needs, of whom 5,327 require special educational attention. Regionally, the figure rises to 87,283 students with special educational needs and 153,926 with specific educational support needs across Andalucía.
Families and education professionals indicate that guidance teams and departments are "overwhelmed," facing high ratios, diagnostic delays, and insufficient time for individualized attention. This situation causes stress for students, families, and teachers.
For its part, the Junta de Andalucía has defended its management, stating that the budget allocated to the care of students with special educational and support needs has reached 636 million euros, representing an 87% increase since 2018. The investment per student with special needs stands at 7,500 euros annually, 32% more than seven years ago.
The regional administration highlights the "largest diversity care staff in history" of the Andalusian education system, with 13,959 professionals, an increase of 37%. These include 3,694 PTIS, 6,029 Therapeutic Pedagogy teachers, and 2,008 Hearing and Language specialists. Additionally, educational guidance has been strengthened with 2,228 professionals, and 175 new Special Education classrooms have been created, along with the deployment of 3,100 reinforcement teachers.
