Summer weather has arrived early in Huelva, where thermometers have registered unusually high figures for the season. This phenomenon has turned the province into a heat hotspot, with forecasts of highs close to 30 degrees Celsius throughout the weekend, encouraging residents to enjoy outdoor activities and the coast.
In this context of premature heat, El Granado, a town in Huelva, stood out last Thursday by reaching 31.8 degrees Celsius at 5:30 PM, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). This mark positioned it as the hottest spot in the country on that April 17th. Closely following was the Aemet station in Tablada, Seville, with only 0.1 degrees Celsius less, while Almonte, also in Huelva, recorded 30.7 degrees Celsius at 5:20 PM.
The list of the ten warmest stations in the country was dominated by locations in Andalusia, with most situated in Seville. Exceptions included the aforementioned stations in Almonte and El Granado in Huelva, Jerez de la Frontera airport, and the Arroyo del Ojanco station in Jaén, confirming the intensity of the heat in the region.
For the weekend, meteorological forecasts indicate that high temperatures will persist. Maximums are expected to range between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius in the capital, between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius in coastal areas, and between 27 and 28 degrees Celsius in the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche. This outlook encourages residents of Huelva to take advantage of the good weather, enjoying the beach or other outdoor leisure options, in what appears to be a clear preview of summer.
