The Competition Judge's decision has come as a significant blow to Recreativo de Huelva, as their coach, Arzu, has been handed a four-match suspension. This ruling means the coach will not be able to sit on the bench for the three remaining regular league matches and, if they qualify, also for the first playoff game. Arzu's expulsion occurred last Sunday, after the match played at the Francisco de la Hera stadium.
“"You will remember what you have done, you will remember today."
According to the referee Guillermo García's match report, the coach addressed him "in a threatening tone" with the aforementioned words. However, this account contradicts Arzu's own statement, who claimed in a press conference that he was expelled for saying they "had played with an entire city." The Competition Judge's resolution is final and cannot be appealed, as Recreativo submitted their appeal late, thus validating the presumption of truthfulness of the referee's factual account.
In addition to Arzu's ban, the team will also have to face the next match without Paolo Romero. The player will serve a suspension for accumulating yellow cards, having received one in the second minute of the match against Extremadura for "recklessly bringing down an opponent in a ball dispute." This decision has sparked controversy, especially when compared to a similar action by Zarfino minutes later, which did not receive the same punishment.
