This mobile educational unit, part of the School Program for Fruit, Vegetable, and Milk Consumption, has traveled through the Huelva province, offering interactive games to primary school students (grades 1 to 6) and the general public. The aim is to highlight the benefits of consuming fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, encouraging their inclusion in the regular diet.
Across Andalusia, the ‘Frutibús’ has visited 149 locations in the eight provinces, with a total participation of 26,122 people. In Huelva, the initiative reached nine municipalities, conducting workshops to promote the consumption of Andalusian products.
The regional government's investment for this activity in the 2025-2026 academic year amounted to nearly 300,000 euros, co-financed by the Regional Government of Andalusia and the European Union through the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF).
Among the activities are the ‘Frutimercado’, which provides information on nutrients and cultivation areas; the ‘Fruticalendario’, focused on meal planning and selecting seasonal foods; and ‘La cocina de los secretos’ (The Kitchen of Secrets), which reveals details about horticultural and dairy products. It also includes the ‘Frigoráculo’ for learning about nutritional characteristics and the ‘Plato que todo lo sabe’ (The All-Knowing Plate) for visualizing recommended portion sizes.
As an outdoor activity, weather permitting, the race ‘Esto es la leche’ (This is Milk) is held, combining physical exercise with dairy consumption, challenging participants to fill milk cartons against the clock.
