The operation, which has been kept under strict secrecy, culminated with the transfer of the haul to the port of Huelva on Wednesday morning. There, the maritime base of the Civil Guard's Maritime Service became the focal point of an extensive security operation for the unloading and custody of the bales.
Sources close to the investigation have confirmed that the drug seizure occurred in Atlantic waters. Although details are scarce, it is known that individuals have been arrested in connection with this shipment and that the Duque de Ahumada and Río Sil vessels, both belonging to the Civil Guard's Maritime Service, participated in the intervention.
At the port facilities, numerous agents from the Civil Guard and the National Police were observed, heavily armed and equipped with balaclavas and bulletproof vests, underscoring the complexity and significance of the operation. The drugs were unloaded by crane and deposited on the esplanade for subsequent custody.
This intervention follows another recent operation by the National Police in the province of Huelva, where significant quantities of cocaine were also seized on a farm in Gibraleón. These events solidify Huelva's position as a strategic entry point for narcotics into Europe.
