Organized by the Andalusian Center of Letters, an entity under the Ministry of Culture and Sport and managed by the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions, the event will allow Zanón to delve into the creative process behind his novel, published by Editorial Salamandra. The conversation will be moderated by communicator and fellow writer Félix Amador.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 PM, with free admission until full capacity is reached. In Objetos perdidos, the author immerses the reader in a man's search who, while pursuing others, confronts his own disorientation. The plot unfolds in a chiaroscuro Barcelona, exploring identity, loss, and the possibility of redemption through extreme decisions and a suspenseful atmosphere.
Carlos Zanón's career includes titles such as Nadie ama a un hombre bueno (Nobody Loves a Good Man), Tarde, mal y nunca (Late, Badly, and Never), which won the Brigada 21 Award for Best Debut Novel of the Year, and No llames a casa (Don't Call Home), which received the Valencia Negra Award for Best Crime Novel of the Year. His work Yo fui Johnny Thunders (I Was Johnny Thunders) earned the Salamanca Negra, Novelpol, and Dashiell Hammett Awards at the Semana Negra de Gijón. In 2019, he published Problemas de identidad (Identity Problems), a continuation of the Carvalho series, and his writings have been translated into several languages, including English, German, French, Dutch, Greek, and Italian.
Beyond his role as a novelist, Zanón is an acclaimed poet, with collections such as Banco de sangre (Blood Bank), Yo vivía aquí (I Lived Here), and Tictac, tictac (Tick-tock, Tick-tock). He is also the author of the short story collection Marley estaba muerto (Marley Was Dead) and has contributed to numerous anthologies. His connection to music is evident in his work as a lyricist for artists and groups like Loquillo y Trogloditas, Brighton 64, Pájaro, and Chamizo. He regularly contributes as a columnist and critic to various media outlets and, since 2017, has served as the curator of the Barcelona Negra literary crime fiction festival.
