The 1st National Circular Economy Congress for Industrial Development, R3genera 2026, will take place at the Casa Colón in Huelva on November 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The event aims to establish itself as a key initiative in sustainability and productive transformation.
The Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), led by its president Antonio Garamendi, will hold the presidency of the Honorary Committee. Meanwhile, the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (Cepyme), with its president Ángela de Miguel, will assume the vice-presidency, reinforcing institutional support for the congress.
The organization has formally requested the Royal Household for the Queen to hold the Honorary Presidency, a petition that is currently awaiting a response. The Honorary Committee is further comprised of executives from supporting entities and companies.
Members of the Honorary Committee include the mayor of Huelva, Pilar Miranda; the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, José Luis Bonet; the CEO of Atlantic Copper, Macarena Gutiérrez; the CEO of PreZero Iberia, Gonzalo Cañete; the general director of Caja Rural del Sur, Guillermo Téllez; the country director of Veolia Spain, Daniel Tugues; and the CEO of Moeve, Maarten Wetselaar.
Alberto España, commissioner of R3genera, highlighted the significance of CEOE and Cepyme joining the initiative, stating that "it is a very positive sign and a huge boost." He added that it confirms "the real need to create spaces to discuss industry, sustainability, and innovation from a practical perspective connected to business reality."
The congress will address topics such as circular economy, energy transition, industrial innovation, bioeconomy, efficient resource management, and new sustainable development opportunities.
R3genera 2026 is promoted by the Huelva Business Federation (FOE) and the Association of Environmental Sector Companies of Huelva (AESA), with institutional support from the Junta de Andalucía, the Huelva City Council, the Provincial Council of Huelva, the Port of Huelva, the Chamber of Commerce of Huelva, the University of Huelva, and the International University of Andalusia, along with companies such as FCC, Valoriza, DSM, Giahsa, Aiqbe, Ecoembes, and Ecovidrio.
