The celebration, taking place from Friday, May 29th to Sunday, May 31st, is one of the most unique events in the province, maintaining a format passed down through generations. The pilgrimage combines religious devotion with an authentic festive spirit, bringing together residents, families, and visitors.
Preparations have filled the streets of Alosno in the preceding days, with residents finalizing details to intensely experience this festival. The departure towards the pilgrimage site promises to be one of the most special moments, accompanied by sevillanas, fandangos, and expressions of joy.
As a new addition this year, on Friday, May 29th, a floral offering to San Antonio de Padua will be made at 11:00 PM on the Paseo de Alosno. At midnight, horsemen, carriages, and 'manolas' will perform a similar offering. On Saturday, after the final Triduum service, San Antonio will parade through the town's streets accompanied by the unique Danza de las Espadas (Sword Dance), a recovered tradition that is remembered once again.
The 'domingo de campo' (field Sunday) is the highlight, known for preserving the essence of the festival under the oak tree. Unlike other pilgrimages, Alosno does not rely on catering services or large infrastructures but prides itself on offering one of the best pilgrimage atmospheres in the province. It is expected to gather around a hundred guitars and approximately 200 to 300 tambourines, showcasing the municipality's rich cultural heritage.
