The decision, approved in an extraordinary plenary session, coincides with the celebration of Aljaraque Municipality Day. These recognitions aim to highlight the work of individuals and collectives who have contributed to the development and identity of the town.
Among the honorees are the Coro Flamenco Virgen de los Remedios, for its promotion of Aljaraque; María Luisa García Dávila, known as ‘Magüi’, for her professional career; Francisco Javier Carrasco Sánchez, in the field of research; the Agrupación Musical Santa Cruz de Huelva, in culture; and Rafael García Prieto, ‘Rafael Trinidad’, posthumously, in the traditions category.
“"These recognitions highlight diverse profiles that represent fundamental values such as culture, professional excellence, or social commitment, also emphasizing the municipal will to reinforce collective memory and local identity."
In addition to the medals, the City Council has reported that the town of Adamuz, as well as Josefa Pérez Maestre and José María Sánchez Román, ‘Jomasán’, will name new streets in the municipality. The tribute to Adamuz is due to the solidarity shown after the train accident that occurred in January.
The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, April 10, at 7:00 PM at the Teatro Cinema Corrales, an event that will bring together Aljaraque society to celebrate those who have enriched the community.
