The city of Granada is set to host a new edition of FicZone, Granada Gaming, and Meeple Factory, establishing itself as a key location for pop culture and entertainment in Spain.
The event, taking place this Saturday and Sunday at the Feria de Muestras de Armilla (Fermasa), is one of the most significant cultural gatherings in the country, covering anime, cinema, fantasy literature, video games, comics, and board games.
Having attracted over 40,000 visitors in previous editions, the organizers expect to bring together thousands of young people and families once again. The aim is to connect the public with creators, artists, educators, and the cultural industry, offering access to all three events with a single ticket, thus reinforcing its cross-cutting nature.
“
"FicZone perfectly represents the evolution of contemporary culture and demonstrates that Granada knows how to connect with new generations through creative formats that are now part of the cultural life of thousands of young people."
Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy themed zones, tournaments, exhibitions, participatory activities, training spaces, and meetings with international artists and guests from the worlds of anime, dubbing, comics, literature, video games, and digital content creation.
Among the novelties this year are exhibitions dedicated to graphic humor, which will include Japanese-style comic strips (yonkoma), carocas, and animated short films created by art students from Granada, inspired by Pop Team Epic. Additionally, in support of Granada's 2031 bid, the short film Julia y el Tesoro will be screened, a piece designed to introduce the public to the city's candidacy for European Capital of Culture.
“
"The goal has always been to demonstrate that these forms of entertainment are also culture and that they generate intergenerational meeting spaces where creativity, education, and fun coexist."
The organization has expressed gratitude for the support from various institutions, whose collaboration has been crucial in promoting an event that enhances Granada's reputation as a national and international benchmark for creativity and new cultural industries.
