The Women ODS Association (MODS), a pioneering Granada-based entity integrating the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, has formalized its support for Granada's bid as European Capital of Culture 2031.
The Women ODS Association, known as MODS, formalized its adhesion this week to Granada's bid for European Capital of Culture 2031. This organization, which works from Granada with a global vision, brings its commitment to a more just, sustainable, and inclusive world to the project.
MODS stands out as the first women-led association in Spain that transversally integrates the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda. Founded and based in Granada, the organization promotes female empowerment and leadership as fundamental pillars for achieving the SDGs, convinced that gender equality is essential for global transformation.
MODS' network of associates and collaborators extends across more than 15 countries in America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, including nations such as Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, the United States, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Morocco, Senegal, Sweden, and Canada.
The mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, positively assessed this adhesion, highlighting the importance of adding an organization that unites two key values of the city's project: sustainability and the empowerment of women. 'An association born in Granada committed to the SDGs and to building a fairer world represents exactly the kind of ally that Granada 2031 needs and deserves,' she stated.
Carazo added that 'Culture and sustainability are inseparable, and women have been and continue to be essential protagonists of that connection. That is why MODS' adhesion is not just institutional support: it is an affirmation of shared values that strengthens the collective project we are building towards 2031'.
With this incorporation, MODS joins the growing number of civil, business, and institutional organizations supporting Granada's bid as European Capital of Culture 2031. Its global, feminist, and sustainability-committed perspective enriches and broadens the project's scope.
