Following several meetings, including a session at Sercla, the proposal presented by the company Avanza has been deemed insufficient by the workers' committee. The stoppages will affect the service from Monday, May 11, to Thursday, May 14, during peak hours, culminating in a full day of mobilization on Friday, May 15.
The latest round of negotiations, which lasted five hours, concluded without significant progress to resolve the labor dispute. Although the workers' committee acknowledges a closer alignment in initial positions, especially regarding salaries, the current offer does not meet the demands of the workforce.
“"The staff is also fighting for dignity, for work-life balance, for rest, for stability, and for working conditions in line with the responsibility and public service provided daily to thousands of citizens of Granada."
The committee has stated that, despite the willingness to dialogue and responsibility shown by the workers, the company's management maintains an inflexible stance that prevents reaching an agreement. They have reiterated their commitment to continue advocating for a fair collective agreement and dignified working conditions for those who maintain the public metro service.
Given this situation, and barring a last-minute agreement, the strike will proceed, impacting mobility in Granada and its Metropolitan Area. The workers have emphasized that this measure is not desired, but they are compelled to call it to ensure their demands are heard.
The Junta de Andalucía has established minimum services of 50% for the strike days, ensuring train passage during peak travel hours. This will mean frequencies of 13 minutes between 07:00 and 09:30, 13:00 to 15:30, and 18:30 to 21:00, from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, May 15, with a full-day strike, the frequency will also be 13 minutes throughout the day. Users are advised to plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays.
