The start of the 2026 Summer Special Operation has caused the first traffic complications on regional roads. According to data from the DGT, traffic intensity is high in several strategic sections, coinciding with a weekend where nearly 1.1 million trips are expected across Andalusia.
In the province of Granada, the A-44 motorway is experiencing delays and slow traffic between La Cerradura and El Corche, as well as on the stretch connecting Granada city to Dúrcal. The road also shows traffic issues heading towards Motril.
Other major regional arteries are also seeing increased vehicle volume. In Seville, the AP-4 reports difficulties near Los Palacios y Villafranca towards Cadiz, while the A-49 shows heavy traffic between Umbrete and Chucena heading towards Huelva.
This is the first of four special devices planned for the summer season. The DGT estimates that a total of 23.4 million long-distance trips will take place on Andalusian roads throughout July and August.
