The Provincial Council of Granada, through its Culture and Education department, has inaugurated the exhibition Amigo Virgilio in the Attic Room of the Palacio de los Condes de Gabia. The show, created by Granada artist Aureliano Santa-Olalla, invites visitors to explore a creative universe born from the author's imagination.
“"This exhibition reflects the Provincial Council's commitment to young talent in the province and to innovative artistic proposals that expand contemporary languages. The Palacio de los Condes de Gabia continues to consolidate itself as a reference space for emerging creation and cultural experimentation."
Amigo Virgilio consists of 14 photographs that, starting from analog techniques and chemical development, are digitally transformed to integrate a multidisciplinary installation. This proposal goes beyond conventional photography, incorporating sculptural, narrative, and an immersive sound composition.
Each image is accompanied by a brief text that builds a linear narrative, evoking Dante's journey with Virgil in The Divine Comedy. The exhibition is complemented by sculptural pieces and an immersive auditory experience, creating a dialogue between various artistic disciplines.
The project includes a catalog designed by the artist himself, conceived as a "travel diary" of the fictional protagonist, featuring a critical text by Ana Frías. The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00, and on Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 14:00.
