The Granada Provincial Council has presented a new publication titled 'Arquitecturas 2015-2025', which gathers a selection of the most significant public works interventions carried out over the last ten years. The book, with a print run of 500 copies and also available in digital format, features 26 representative projects from the more than 500 actions undertaken by the Delegation of Public Works and Housing.
The delegate for Public Works and Housing, José Ramón Jiménez, highlighted that the compiled work is "the reflection of a way of working based on collaboration with town councils and the permanent commitment of the Provincial Council to the province's municipalities." He stressed that each project responds to "real needs of the citizens" and demonstrates how architecture and public planning improve people's quality of life.
Jiménez also emphasized the responsibility of the Granada Provincial Council in the "territorial balance of the province," particularly in smaller municipalities. He noted that many of the interventions included "could hardly have been carried out without the technical and economic support of the provincial institution," valuing a decade of investments that have generated opportunities and improved public services.
The book organizes the works into four thematic blocks: public facilities, public spaces, rehabilitation, and civil works and infrastructure. The public facilities section includes 17 interventions such as the Sports Pavilion of Pulianas, the Day Care Center of Restábal, the Gymnasium of Puebla de Don Fadrique, the Town Hall of Cájar, and the business cluster of Padul.
Other notable works include the enhancement of public spaces like the Rafael Alberti Park in Santa Fe or the Panoramic Viewpoint of Mairena, in Nevada. It also features heritage rehabilitation projects such as the Tower of Romilla, in Chauchina, and infrastructure works like the pedestrian walkway of Jolúcar, in Torrenueva.
