The incident took place around midday when a police patrol conducting security duties spotted a man riding a scooter in the wrong direction. Upon noticing the officers, the individual attempted to flee, leading to a short pursuit that ended with him being intercepted a few meters away.
During the inspection, officers discovered a large trash bag that the suspect was carrying. Inside, they found three heat-sealed plastic bags containing marijuana, with a total weight exceeding four and a half kilograms.
The detainee, who has a record of fifteen previous police offenses, has been placed at the disposal of the judicial authority as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime. The seized substance has been confiscated for subsequent destruction.
