The Granada Book Fair served as the venue for the awards ceremony of the 'Literature turned into music: the creative universe of Manuel de Falla' contest. This competition brought together around fifty students from twelve educational centers across Granada and its province, who participated in two distinct phases.
The first phase focused on literary creation, allowing students to submit their works in written format or as a podcast. The second stage involved artistic production, where participants illustrated the winning works from the initial phase.
The contest, organized by the Territorial Delegation for Educational Development and Vocational Training, with the collaboration of the Book Fair and sponsorship from El Corte Inglés, is part of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of composer Manuel de Falla's birth and the celebration of Book Day. Its main objective is to promote reading, literary, and artistic creativity among students, as well as to bring the figure of the renowned composer closer to educational centers, highlighting the connection between literature and music.
In the first phase, the jury awarded a first prize ex aequo to a student from IES Manuel de Falla de Maracena for their work 'Between notes and words', and to the high school students from IES Al Ándalus de Almuñécar for their podcast 'El amor brujo'. In the second phase, focused on illustration, the award went to the students of IES Emilio Muñoz de Cogollos Vega, in recognition of the technical and artistic quality of their work.
The awards and diploma ceremony took place in the main pavilion of the Granada Book Fair, located at the Fuente de las Batallas, and was attended by the territorial delegate for Educational Development and Vocational Training and for University, Research and Innovation in Granada, along with representatives from the Book Fair and the Manuel de Falla Archive.
