The Family Park, envisioned as a new green space and children's leisure area in Granada, is located next to the Granada Highway, between the Hipercor area and the La Chana exit. The construction has experienced significant delays, prompting the Urban Planning department of the council to seek this deadline extension.

According to Enrique Catalina, the Councilor for Urban Planning, who reported in a committee meeting, the delays are due to various factors. These include the months it took to demolish the old house of Huerta de la Mariana, as well as the effects of a particularly rainy winter that also hindered earthworks and planting.

The original deadline for the completion of the first phase of the project was March. However, works valued at 1.5 million euros still need to be executed. If the extension is not granted, the city will not receive this amount from European funds and will have to cover the remaining cost from the City Council's own resources.
