The city of Granada will be the venue this Sunday for the Andalucía Challenger ‘Paco Sánchez Vargas’ International Meeting, a competition that will bring together national and international athletes.
The event, promoted by the Junta de Andalucía and the Provincial Council of Granada along with the Andalusian Athletics Federation, is part of the World Athletics calendar with Challenger status. This provides participants with the opportunity to achieve the minimum marks required for the upcoming European Championships, to be held in Birmingham (United Kingdom) from August 10th to 16th.
Among the confirmed competitors is race walker María Pérez, a double Olympic and World champion. The competition will take place on the Granada track that was recently named in honor of the athlete.
